Driver Quotes from Round 9 Qualifying

Daniel Keilwitz
Nr101 Callaway Competition Corvette Z06R GT3

“I’m very happy with the pole position but I think it will be a hard race today, because we have to be really careful with our tyres, as we have a lot of weight in our car. I think it’s going to be really hard for us. The heat is also a point, it’s very hot in the car and I think it’ll get hotter this afternoon; it’s not easy to drive in that heat. I’m thinking to the race ahead, not so much to the championship, and we must not make any mistakes in the race and our goal is to reach the end before our competitors.”

Zak Brown
Nr23 United Autosports Audi R8 LMS
“I’m very pleased. It’s been a very difficult season. We’ve been here before, tested at this track, this is the only track that we’ve been to, so I think the team’s done a fantastic job. We’ve got the Audi exactly where we want it, the tyres are good. It’s seemed to all come together for qualifying, so hopefully we’ll have a good race. I think the Audi’s been good all year. It’s been difficult with the balance of performance, but looking at the grid, I think they’ve now got it right. It is a track that the Audis are very good around. I’m very excited for the race.”

Paul Van Splunteren
Nr61 Prospeed Competition Porsche 911 GT3R

“I think the temperature helped this morning, as we have a relatively small engine. We’ll suffer a bit more this afternoon when it comes to the power; everyone was quicker this morning because of the better conditions. We’re looking forward to it. It’s an interesting and challenging circuit. We’ll see around 3 o’clock what the situation is.”
